This song has a lot of instruments on it and there are a total of eight guitars: two that play the main rhythmic figure, one semi-clean that plays the chords, two guitars (probably not the same as the rhythm guitars since they have a completely different sound) that play the octaves that doubles the background vocals in the bridge, and two guitars for the solo (one main and one harmony). That only makes seven though. What about the eight guitar you ask? It shows up right at the end, panned hard to the right, and it's an acoustic (might be a 12-string) that plays Rhy. Fig . Add to that an impressive array of percussive instruments and an old analog synthesizer that plays kind of a root-fifth thing during the second half of the song. (Listen fot it, it sounds kind of like a distorted bass.) The solo, I venture to say, is Paul. Cool harmony towards the end.
