The missing chord after the G is A
It might be an Augmented A or just an A Bass note from the G, but it isn't a straight A major...I often just lift and open the strings as I "walk" to the next chord. Then Again I don't use the same chord changes on the verses but rather keep a D chord and add "c", "b" and "b flat" as a walk down much like "Dear Prudence". I am a 12-string finger picker though ...:)
