Take It Easy

By The Eagles

D7sus xx0213 C/G 3x2013

Verse 1

Well I'm a runnin' down the road try'n to loosen my load
I've got seven women on my mind
Four that wanna own me, two that wanna stone me
One says she's a friend of mine
Take it easy,

Chorus 1

take it easy
Don't let the sound of your own wheels drive you crazy
Lighten up while you still can
Don't even try to understand
Just find a place to make your stand,  and take it easy

Verse 2

Well, I'm a standin' on a corner in Winslow, Arizona
Such a fine sight to see
It's a girl my lord in a flat-bed Ford
Slowin' down to take a look at me

Chorus 2

Come on, baby, don't say maybe
I gotta know if your sweet love is gonna save me
We may lose and we may win, though we may never be here again
So open up I'm climbin' in, so take it easy

Verse 3

Well, I'm a runnin' down the road tryin' to loosen my load
Got a world of trouble on my mind
Lookin' for a lover who won't blow my cover, she's so hard to find

Chorus 3

Take it easy,  take it easy
Don't let the sound of your own wheels make you crazy
Come on baby, don't say maybe
I gotta know of your sweet love is gonna save me

 Oo    oo    oo     oo
 Oo    oo    oo     oo
Oo      Oh we got it  eas     y     We ought to take it
 eas     y

The tuning is standard. I've determined all the chords for the instrumental lead-in: G C D G C D

For the instrumental break:
G D C G D C G Em D C G Am C Em D
can't give you the duration with this comment, but it works well. I just found out about the D at the end of the break, by watching someone's youtube. Enjoy
naccoachbob (report comment to admin):
Not sure about the D's after the Em's at the end of the 6th line of each verse. I've also seen it in the area of "take it ea----sy where a D is put on the "sy" part or "Come on ba---by" at the by part. Would love to know what others think. Neither one sounds "bad", but is it right?

Also at the very end after "your sweet love is gonna save me" it goes to:
C G C G C G C G C and Em for one strum.
