Song:   SEX AND CANDY
Artist: Marcy Playground

Transcribed by RSirrom@aol.com (Ryan Morris)
With chords by doucette@inreach.com

I got the chords last week (thanks to doucette@inreach.com)
and figured out the little fill in the middle during the
‘I smell sex and candy...’ part.  Here it is...

Verse

B5                              G5                 A5
Hangin’ ‘round, downtown by myself and I’ve had

B5                                G5                     A5
so much time to sit and think about myself and then there sh

B5          G5             A5
was like double cherry pie, yeah there she

B5        G5          A5
was, like disco superfly.

There’s a fill in the chorus where there’s no chords so it
sounds crappy unless you can play the fill to take up the void.

( ) hammer-on

 p  pull off

Fill
e------------------------------|
b------------------------------|
g--2--(4)--2-------------------|
d-------------2--(4)--2--------|
a--------------------------5---|
E------------------------------|

This fill runs duing the ‘I smell sex and’ part,
and then the chords come in right before ‘candy’

Chorus

           (Fill)      B5   G5    A5
I smell sex and candy here

           (Fill)          B5   G5     A5
Who’s that loungin’ in my chair?

           (Fill)         B5       G5             A5
Who’s that castin’ devious stares in my direction?

Bridge

                                        D5     A5       B5
Mama this surely is a dream...

                           G5           D5     A5      B5
Yeah momma this surely is a dream

                G5                D5     A5    B5   G5 (F#5) repeatedly
        This must be my dream

The F#5 goes right into the next verse, who’s lyrics are:

Hangin’ ‘round, downtown by myself, and I’ve had
too much caffine and I was thinkin’ about myself
and then there she was
in platform double suede, yeah there she was,
like disco lemondade

This goes to the chorus, then to the bridge again
and at the end there is a runthrough of the
chorus and bridge once again.

The last note in this is played a D5 which you just let ring.
To get the strumming down good you’ll have to listen to the
record but it’s not too hard.

Have fun! If you have any additions to this or other things you
want to send me, (comments, etc.) please send them to
