I'm My Own Grandpa  Ray Stevens

Now man[D]y, many years ago when I [A]was twenty-three
This made my dad my son-in-law and changed my very life
My little baby then became a brother-in-law to dad
Father's wife then had a son who kept him on the run
Now if my wife is my grandmother, then I'm her grandchild
I was mar[A7]ried to a widder who was pre[D]tty as can be
My daughter was my mother for she was my father's wife
And so became my uncle though it made me very sad
And he became my grandchild for he was my daughter's son
And every time I think of it, it nearly drives me wild
This wid[D7]der had a grown up daughter who[G] had hair of red
To complicate the matter even though it brought me joy
For if he was my uncle then that also made him brother
My wife is now my mother's mother and it makes me blue
For now I have become the strangest case you ever saw
My fat[E]her fell in lov[E7]e with her and soo[A]n they too were wed.
I soon became the father of a bouncing baby boy.
Of the widder's grown up daughter who of course was my step-mother.
Because although she is my wife, she's my grandmother too.
As husband of my grandmother, I am my own grandpa.
[D]I'm my [A7]own grand-[D]pa. [(D7)] [G]I'm my o[G7]wn grand-[A]pa.
[(A7)] It sounds [D]funny I [D7]know, but it [G]really is [Gm]so
Oh, [D]I'm my [A7]own grand-[D]pa.
