Clampdown  The Clash

(Correct)
I like to play both rythm and lead, mixing Joe's and Mick's parts.
So this is really just rythm w/ a lead lick or two in it, that's what
all my submissions will probably be.
Clampdown:
"1,2 1,2,3"Em(x1)- A(x8)- G#(x8)- F#(x8)- Em(x8)

 E--0--5-(x8)-4-(x8)-2-(x8)-0-(x8)
 A-2--7-------6-------4------2-----
 D-2--7-------6-------4------2-----
 G-0--0-------0-------0------0------

Joe plays this intro 4 times, then ends with one stroke of the
A chord(5770)
Mick hits these Main chords the first and third times...During the
second and fourth times, he is hammering this:
B--4-2-4-2(really fast, and starts to slow he pace until...)

 -4---2---4(bend, to hammer-off)2(let ring)

That soundsconfusing, but listen to it, it'lll make sense.Just play
around with the 2&4 frets on the B string.Mick also ends on the
A chord(like Joe). There is a pause until:
"What are we gonna do now?"
D(x3) E7(x3) A(x1(ring))

 E--5-(x3)-7-(x3)-5-(x1,ring)
 A-5-------7-------7
 D-7-------9-------7
 G-7-------9-------0

Listen for the duration of the pause, then Mick
says"hup 2 3 4" and begins playing the 1st Verse:
"Takin off his turban, they say,"Is this man a Jew?"
A(x2) D(x2) G(x2) A(x2)
"Working for the clamp-down!"
A(x4) D(x1) A(x1) (2nd and 3rd Verses,
Mick plays this after"clampdown"(B-10H9H10))
"They put up a poster sayin,"We earn more than you!"
A(x2) D(x2) G(x2) A(x2)
"Working for the clamp-down!"
A(x4) D(x1) A(x1)
(Chorus 1)
"So you''ll teach your twisted speech,"
D (listen for rhythm) G
"To the young belie-vers"
[A]"And you'[D]ll tra[A]in your blue eyed men,"
&[D]quot;To be young belie-vers.&quo[G]t;
[A](VERSE 2)[D] [A]
"Judge said 5 to 10, I said double it again,
I'm not workin for the clampdown.
No man born with a living soul
Can be workin for the clampdown."
(Chorus 2)
"Kick over the wall, cause the Gov't will fall,
How can you refuse it?
Let fury have the hour, anger can be power,
Did ya know that you could use it?"
Joe,"Yeah and listen!..."
(Breakdown)
Mick"The voices in his head are callin,
quit [Em]wastin you time, ain't noth[G#]in comin,
[A]Only a fool could think someone could save you.
The men in the factory are old and cunnin,
You don't owe nothin, boy get runnin,
It's the best years of your life they want to steal!
and they will..."(slide from A down to Em)
(Verse 3)
You grow up and you calm down,
Workin for the clampdown.
You start wearin blue and brown and
Workin for the clampdown.
(Chorus 3)
So ya got someone to boss around,
Makesya feel big now.
Ya kick until you brutalize,
Make your first kill now.
(The next part is palm muted)
just keep playin G(x4)D(x1)A(x1)
whispers,"workin for the clampdown,
workin for the clampdown,
Yeah I'm workin hard in Harrisburg,
Workin hard in Pineside..."and a whole bunch
of other places. (On the live version there's
another BreakDown, just hit chord G 3 times
bending the root note(G) then hit A and bend
the root note. Good luck
