Adventures in Solitude  The New Pornographers

I put brackets around chords where the song stays on
the same chord through two measures, but doesnā??t emphasize it the
second time. Thanks for the lyric emails, I updated them,
but the end still seems a little off.
[C] [D] [G] [C] [C] [D] [G]
[G] C D
Balancing on one wounded wing
Circling the [G]edge of the never en[C]ding
C D G [G]
The best of the vanished marvels have gathered inside your door
More than [C]begin, but less than for[D]get
But spirit [G]born from the not happened [C]yet
C D G [G]
Gathering there to pay off a debt brought back from the wars
We thought we lo[C]st you [D] We thought we lo[G]st you[C]
C D G [G]
We thought we lost you Welcome back
C D G [G]
Sleeping for [C]years pick through what is [D]left
Through the pieces that [G]fell and rose from the de[C]pth
C D G [G]
Less than for[C]get but more than be[D]gun
These adventures in s[G]olitude never [C]done
C D G [G]
To the names of our wounds we send the same blood back from the wars
We thought we lo[C]st you [D] We thought we lo[G]st you[C]
C D G [G]
We thought we lost you It will all come back
C D G C C D G [G]
I know you [Bm]want to run far [Em]away from [D]one more,
[C] and that itā??s coming at [G]a bad time
some cold [Bm]place, some countless [Em]ways[D] [C]
[C] For all we know[G]
I know you [Bm]need to breathe through [Em]come back, [D]come to
[C] but itā??s coming at [G]a bad time
Some how a [Bm]watch from the tangle of [Em]days[D]
[C] For all we know[G]
C D G C C D G [G]
I know you [Bm]want to run far [Em]away from [D]one more,
[C] and that itā??s coming at [G]a bad time
some cold [Bm]race, some countless [Em]ways[D] [C]
[C] For all we know[G]
I know you [Bm]want to breathe through [Em]come back, [D]come to
[C] but itā??s coming at [G]a bad time
old scarred [Bm]face from survivor's [Em]guilt[D]
[C] For all we know[G]
Extra notes:
If you play the piano, I think the verses use C 2nd inversion,
D 2nd inversion, and G 1st inversion. Start with middle C in the
middle and it should fall into place.
Someoneā??s quietly plucking a guitar in the intro and
first verse (that I can hear), and hereā??s what s/heā??s playing.
C D G C (or [G] second time)
