Dog Faced Boy Phish
The technique used is travis picking, which is very extensively used in country,
american folk and bluegrass music. Worth checking out some lessons on it if you´re not already
familiar, very adaptive and useful style of playing chords and relatively easy to get
into. It takes practise though :-)
So, here it is:
[C]I can't spare a mome[G]nt for the dog faced b[Am]oy
[F]I won't lend anothe[G]r hand to the worm girl of [C]Hanoi
[E7]Don't deplete my oxygen for the [Am]guy who's turning blue
But a[C]sk me, and I'll do[G] anything for [C]you
Whenever I [C]think of you it only makes me feel [G]sad[G7]
Whenever I think of you, the best friend I ever [C]had...
Before I [Bb]gave it up all for [F]nothing[C]
C (alternating C/G bass)
Well, I lied and I cheated
And it ma[C]de me feel [G]bad[G7]
It made me feel guilty for not being true
Oh the months I spend trying for a way to explain
In the end all I could do as turn my head in [C]shame
Whenever I [C]think of y[C7]ou, oh [F]darling, it only makes me feel[D7] sad
Because [G7]you deserve better and once I was it
But somehow my good intentions just got up and[C] git
[F]So I can´t spare a mo[G]ment on the[C] dog faced boy
[F]I won´t lend [G]another hand to the[C] worm girl of Illinois
I [E7]can´t deplete my oxygen for the one[Am] guy who´s turnin[F]g blue
But [C]ask me, and I`ll do[G] anything for [C]you
