It sounds like the drum beat is a little different than Alexi's. The drum count should start on the second beat such that it is counted: 2 ah-3 and 4. The ah beat right before the 3 is a 16th note that leads right into the 3rd beat. And make sure you use your thumb on beat 2 and beat 4. This sets you up for the strum.
One minor but important correction to the strum. It should be up down up down. And it should start right after the 4th beat and end on the 1 beat of the next measure. Hope that helps.
I love the video addition to this site. And thanks for getting me started on this song. It is so fun to play but very difficult to play and sing at same time, at least for me.
