My Hope is Built Misc. Gospel
My [G]hope is built on n[D7]othing less
Than J[Am]esusÂ’ blood and [D7]righteous[G]ness;
I dare not trust the [D7]sweetest frame,
But [Am]wholly lean on [D7]JesusÂ’ [G]name.
On [G]Christ the [C]solid [C]Rock I stand;
All other [G]ground is [D7]sinking sand.
All o[G]ther [Em]ground is [D7]sinking [G]sand.
When darkness veils His lovely face,
I rest on His unchanging grace.
In every high and stormy gale,
My anchor holds within the veil.
His oath, His covenant, His blood
Support me in the whelming flood;
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my hope and stay.
When He shall come with trumpet sound,
O may I then in Him be found!
Dressed in His righteousness alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne.
My h[E]ope is b[C#m]uilt on n[F#m]othing le[B]ss than J[A]esus' bl[F#m]ood and r[A]ighte[B]ousn[E]ess.
I da[E]re not t[C#m]rust the s[F#m]weetest fr[B]ame, but w[A]holly t[F#m]rust in [A]Jes[B]us' n[E]ame.
On Ch[E]rist the solid r[A]ock I stand, all o[E]ther g[C#m]round is s[F#m]inking s[B]and;
All o[A]ther gr[F#m]ound is si[B]nking s[E]and.
