My Hope is Built Misc. Gospel
My [D]hope is built on n[A7]othing less
Than J[Em]esusÂ’ blood and [A7]righteous[D]ness;
I dare not trust the [A7]sweetest frame,
But [Em]wholly lean on [A7]JesusÂ’ [D]name.
On [D]Christ the [G]solid [G]Rock I stand;
All other [D]ground is [A7]sinking sand.
All o[D]ther [Bm]ground is [A7]sinking [D]sand.
When darkness veils His lovely face,
I rest on His unchanging grace.
In every high and stormy gale,
My anchor holds within the veil.
His oath, His covenant, His blood
Support me in the whelming flood;
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my hope and stay.
When He shall come with trumpet sound,
O may I then in Him be found!
Dressed in His righteousness alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne.
My h[B]ope is b[Abm]uilt on n[Dbm]othing le[F#]ss than J[E]esus' bl[Dbm]ood and r[E]ighte[F#]ousn[B]ess.
I da[B]re not t[Abm]rust the s[Dbm]weetest fr[F#]ame, but w[E]holly t[Dbm]rust in [E]Jes[F#]us' n[B]ame.
On Ch[B]rist the solid r[E]ock I stand, all o[B]ther g[Abm]round is s[Dbm]inking s[F#]and;
All o[E]ther gr[Dbm]ound is si[F#]nking s[B]and.
