Born to Hum  Erin McKeown

This is my first attempt at tabbing a song by ear. The song's chords are pretty
simple. The picking makes it a little more interesting, but I didn't try to tab that.
TITLE: born to hum
ARTIST: erin mckeown (http://www.erinmckeown.com/)
CF (4x)
[C]once in the spring of my [F]24th year
[C]i had nothing to [F]say.
[C]with a dangling promise and
[F]a terrible past
[C]i threw all the words [F]away.
[Em]we were [F]born to [C]hum.[F]
[C]you were the last in my [F]24th year
[C]to make a demand of my [F]voice.
[C]i tickled your ear and
[F]i laughed in your face and
[C]i gave you my choice.
[Em]we were [F]born to [C]hum.[F]
[Em]we were [F]born to [C]hum.[F]
(lots of picking here, along with the artist saying "hum". it follows the chord
pattern from the rest of the song...C, then F)
[C]it's a gradual running,
[F]a kind of release
[C]that's settled on my [F]face.
[C]once in awhile i [F]complain to myself,
[C]nothing gets done!
[F]nothing's in place!
[Em]but i would [F]rather [C]hum.
[Em]i would [F]rather [C]hum.
(picking, "hum", C F chord pattern at the end)
