Just Remember I Love You

Firefall

Words and music by Rick Roberts
(from the album "Luna Sea")

Note: (from Firefall's website http://www.firefall.com/charts/remember.htm)
During the song intro and the verses, the Fmaj7 and G6 chords are the same form; that is to say, the G6 is played like the Fmaj7, only two frets higher, on the third fret. The high E string is allowed to ring open, hence the 6th of the G chord is the open E. Additionally, on the first strum of each chord the first finger and middle finger of the left hand is lifted, the strings (E, B and G) are allowed to ring open, then on the second strum the first and middle fingers are again placed down to form the full chord.

 Fmaj7
when it all goes crazy and the thrill is gone
 G6
the days get rainy and the nights get long
 Fmaj7
when you get that feeling you were born to lose
 EmFmaj7G6
staring at your ceiling thinking of your blues

 Fmaj7
when there's so much trouble that you want to cry
 G6
the world has crumbled and you don't know why
 Fmaj7
when your hopes are fading and they can't be found
 EmFmaj7G
dreams have left you waiting friends have let you down

Chorus:
 CGFmaj7CGFmaj7
just remember I love you and it'll be all right
 CGFmaj7CGFmaj7
just remember I love you more than I can say
 AmGFmaj7G6
maybe then your blues will fade away

 Fmaj7
when you need a lover and you're down so low
 G6
you start to wonder but you never know
 Fmaj7
when it feels like sorrow is your only friend
 EmFmaj7G6
knowing that tomorrow you'll feel this way again

Bridge: (pedal steel guitar/saxophone instrumental) finish with G6 to (bar chord)G

 Fmaj7
when the blues come calling at the break of dawn
 G6
rain keeps falling but the rainbow's gone
 Fmaj7
when you feel like crying but the tears won't come
 EmFmaj7G
when your dreams are dying when you're on the run

 CGFmaj7CGFmaj7
just remember I love you and it'll be all right
 CGFmaj7CGFmaj7
just remember I love you more than I can say
 CGFmaj7AmGFmaj7
Just remember I love you, and it'll be alright
 AmGFmaj7
it'll be alright
 AmGFmaj7
it'll be alright
 AmGFmaj7
it'll be alright

 Cmaj7
 END

Additional note: Consider, as an alternative, playing the G chord in the chorus the following way; third finger on the A string, fret 2, ring finger on the low E string, fret 3, little finger on the D string, fret 3 (like a C chord without the index finger on). This makes for an easier transition between the three chords and lets the high E string ring open all the way through - which keeps with the character of the song.
