Last Kiss  J Frank Wilson and The Cavaliers

Well, wh[E]ere oh where can [C#m]my baby be?[A] The Lord took her aw[B]ay from me
[E]  She's gone to heaven so I [C#m]got to be good, so [A]I can see my baby when I
l[B]eave this w[E]orld

We were o[E]ut on a date in [C#m]my daddy's car,[A] we hadn't driven v[B]ery far
Ther[B]e in the road, it was straight ahead, the car was stalled, the engine

was dead
[E]I couldn't stop, so I s[C#m]werved to the right, n[A]ever forget the s[B]ound that

The cry[E]in' tires, the bustin' glass, the painful scream that I heard last

(CHORUS 2--different vocal tune, same chords)

Well when [E]I woke up, the rain was p[C#m]ouring down, th[A]ere were people standing
[B]all around
S[E]omething warm a-runnin'[C#m] in my eyes, b[A]ut I found my baby s[B]omehow that night
I r[E]aised her head, and when she s[C#m]miled and said, "H[A]old me darling just a
l[B]ittle while",
I held he[B]r close, I kissed her our last kiss, I found the love that I knew

that I'd miss
But now[B] she's gone, even though I hold her tight, I lost my love, my life,
that n[E]ight.

(repeat OUTRO to fade out)

So it's just an E-C#m-A-B progression repeated throughout the song. Keep a good tempo,
make it too slow. It's supposed to be more of a story than a real tearjerker. Don't make
too fast, either. You're not happy she died, either (hopefully). I like to instead of
out after a bunch of repeats, just end cold on an E after two or three "eee"
But, do as you like.
