Ballad Of Curtis Loew

Lynyrd Skynyrd

 EB
Well I used to wake the morning before the rooster crowed
 EAF#7
Searching for soda bottles to get myself some dough
 EB
Brought em down to the corner, down to the country store
 AA7
Cash em in and give my money to a man named curtis loew

 EBAE
Old curt was a black man with white curly hair
 EBAE
When he had a fifth of wine he did not have a care
 EBAE
He used to own an old dobro, used to play it across his knee
 EBAEE7
Id give old curt my money, hed play all day for me

(chorus)
 AEE7
Play me a song curtis loew, curtis loew
 AEE7
I got your drinking money, tune up your dobro
 AEE7
People said he was useless, them people are the fools
 EADAA7
cause curtis loew was the finest picker to ever play the blues

 EBAE
He looked to be sixty, and maybe I was ten
 EBAE
Mama used to whip me but Id go see him again
 EBAE
Id clap my hands, stomp my feets, try to stay in time
 EB
Hed play me a song or two
 AEE7
Then take another drink of wine.

Chorus

Yes sir

 EBAE
On the day old curtis died, nobody came to pray
 EBAE
Ol preacher said some words, and they chunked him in the clay
 EBAE
But he lived a lifetime playin the black mans blues
 EBAEE7
And on the day he lost his life, thats all he had to lose

 AEE7
Play me a song curtis loew, hey curtis loew
 AEE7
I wish that you was here so everyone would know
 AEE7
People said he was useless, them people all are fools
 EDAA7E
cause curtis youre the finest picker to ever play the blues

i don't see how this is a tutorial
gah0004 (report comment to admin):
when it says "when he had a fifth of wine he did not have a care" the "did" is actually a D and not an A. and that line ends with A and not E.
gah0004 (report comment to admin):
also, in the chorus, where it says them people are the fools (it should say "them people all were fools" but that's beside the point) "fools" should be F#7, not E7
