Wild Colonial Boy Misc. Irish
[C]There was a wild co[F]lonial [G7]boy, Jack Duggin was his [C]name
He was born and raised in [G]Ireland, in a [G7]place called [C]Castlemain
He was his fathers [G]only son, his [G7]mothers pride and [C]joy,
And dearly [G7]did his [F]parents [G]love, the wild [G7]coloni[G6]al [C]boy.
At the early age of 16 years, Jack left his native home,
And to Austrailia's sunny shores, he was inclined to roam,
He roobed the Lordly squatters, their flocks he would destroy,
A terror to Austrailia was, the wild colonial boy.
One morning on the prairie, as Jack he rode along,
While listening to the mocking birds, singing a cheerful song,
Up jumped three troopers fierce and grim, Kelly, Davis, and
Fitzroy,
They all set out to capture him, The wild colonial boy.
Surrender now Jack Duggin, for you see we're three to one,
Surrender in the Queens own name, for you are a plundering son,
Jack drew two pistols from his belt, and fired upon Fitzroy
I'll fight but not surrender cried the wild colonial boy.
He fired point blank and Kelly and brought him to the ground,
He fired a shot at Davis too, who fell dead upon the sound,
But a bullet piereced his proud young heart, from the pistol of
Fitzroy
And that is how they captured him, The wild colonial boy.
