And if I [E]haver yeah I know I'm gonna be
I'm gonna [A]be the man who's [B]havering to [E]you

But [E]I would walk 500 miles                           (chorus)
   And [A]I would walk [B]500 more                         ( " "  )
   Just to [E]be the man who walked 1,000[A] miles         ( " "  )
   To fall down [B]at your door                            ( " "  )

When I'm [E]working yes I know I'm gonna be
I'm gonna [A]be the man who's [B]working hard for you
And when the [E]money comes in for the work I'll do
I'll [A]pass almost every [B]penny on to you
When I[E] come home yeah I know I'm gonna be
I'm gonna[A] be the man who [B]comes back home to you

Mike Ayre (report)

Sounds better in the key of E
E ... A ... B... E

Give it a try

I think the last two lines should be transposed, so the Bm comes first and the tune resolves to D on the final "to you"?

Tex Moonbeam (report)

Agree with ARE1222 - the actual Proclaimers version is in E but fortunately, I sing it in THIS key, so thanks for posting - Tex

Hal Toupee (report)

This lyric "And if I grow , well I know I'm gonna be..." is actually "And if I grow OLD, well I know I'm gonna be..."

Fun song and my first comment!!!

Thanks for posting it
Hal
