Peter Pan's Playground  Beans on Toast

Capo 4th
[C]I come from a village called Rayne [F]next to a town called Braintree, [G]near
the city of Colchester [C]in middle of the Essex County.
[C]A semi detached house with th[F]ree cars on the drive. M[G]um used to work at a
swimming pool and d[C]ad on a building site.
My br[C]other used to sell a little bit of hash but n[F]ever enough to get caught;
he used to r[G]ag it around the town at night in a m[C]ark two ford escort.
Six ye[C]ars of Notley high school got me f[F]our GCSEs its not the gr[G]eatest
education but its [C]good enough for me.
And on s[C]unny Sunday afternoons we [F]go down to southend, [G]peter pans
playground it was [C]called back then.
[C]We d all walk down the sea front to the [F]pier for fish and chips. I [G]used to
hang around in arcades playing [C]Mortal Kombat.
So ill [C]sing a song for Southend on [F]radio 2, I [G]think they want me to make fun
of it but I [C]can only tell the truth.
[C]so if youve never been to Essex d[F]ont be so quick to knock it be[G]cause the
reality TV show dont know e[C]verything about it.
[C]Well weve all heard jokes about Essex girls and h[F]ow people think they are
Easy, [G]loud mouth blonde and stupid and b[C]aby in the belly.
[C]Back in Braintree college I was in [F]love with a girl called Claire[G] smart
little vegetarian as [C]pretty as the flower in her hair.
on [C]sunny Sunday afternoons we [F]go down to south end, we [G]bunk the train to
the sea side to [C]hang out with our friends.
The [C]rollercoasters tiny its n[F]ot like Alton towers [G]but with the right ones
sitting next to you, you [C]go round and round for hours.
So ill [C]sing a song for Southend on [F]radio 2, I think [G]they want me to make fun
of it but I [C]can only tell the truth.
[C]so if youve never been to Essex d[F]ont be so quick to knock it be[G]cause the
reality TV show dont know e[C]verything about it.
And [C]in my line of work I visit l[F]ots of different places. I[G] iron out the
clichés and try and [C]understand the creases.
its good to have some c[C]haracter it makes you who you a[F]re and Id rather be[G]
form Essex than be from [F]Buc[C]king[G]ham[C]shire
