So there is no acoustic verson of Several Ways To Die Trying that
Chris Carrabba does that I know of. But this is my verson of just
such a song. I've studied other tabs, and decided which I think
would be the most important parts if I could have only one guitar.
I used my ears to fill in the rest and this is what I get. It is
the meat of the song, so you CAN play it along with the CD (except
my version doesn't have all the instrumental parts), but you will
hear other guitar parts, and you'll be tempted to play them. Go
ahead: I won't be offended. This is just ONE way you can play it.
It sounds good and is fun to sing to.
All non-parenthesied numbers (numbers not in those things -->(0)),
are the main part to be played. I only added those (0)'s in the
intro. Try not to play them (and I didn't even write them the
rest of the tab), but if you do, it sounds alright.
I even wrote in the timing with the /'s being the whole count and
the &'s being the half count. I didn't write in the strumming,
because there isn't really one. Just kinda make it up; I know you
can make it sound good. I did write in where the chords change, so
if there is a blank are (except for the rest or when you let it ring),
just keep playing the chord last enumerated (that big word means
listed, so just play the last chord written). The words that come at
chord changes are placed in the correct places and the rest are just
put there, so just listen to the CD and sing like he does and you'll
get it.
It's designed so that you never have to look back. In other words,
besides playing the intro twice, there are no repeats, you can just
play it straight through.
NOTE: Play the chords lightly, and beat with a thin pick. It sounds
cool when you get the hang of it.
