Sandcastles  Kate Voegele

There are two ways of playing this song, with a capo on 5, or without a capo.
Kate plays it live with the capo, and that version is easier to play, but I think
the version without the capo sounds closer to the album version, and has the advantage
that you don’t need to have a capo to play it, although the chords are a little harder.
So I tabbed the whole song with the chords for the capo version. If you want to play
it without the capo you have to play a C instead of a G, a F instead of Cadd9/C,
a G instead of D, etc.
At Live shows Kate sometimes play a Cadd9 and others play a C, but they sound pretty
much the same, so you can choose which one you prefer to play.

[G] [Cadd9] [D] [G] [Cadd9] [D]
[Cadd9]I got this ticket in my[G] hand
And[Cadd9] I got a [D]long, long day [G]ahead
And I[Em7] got a hell of a lot of [Am]reasons to be sad
But I've got a [C]hundred more that [D]keep me coming[G] back
[Cadd9]I got these worn out red boots[G] on
An[Cadd9]d I got a [D]brand new favorite[G] song
And[Em7] I can name some people who'd say that [Am]I got it all wrong
But I know[C] plenty more who've[D] been there all[G] along
( Tab from: http://www.guitartabs.cc/tabs/k/kate_voegele/sandcastles_crd_ver_2.html )
I'd rather make [G]sandcastles
Instead of these w[D]ide-world d[Em7]ecisions
I [Cadd9]knew, I knew it all was c[D]atching up to me, yeah
And I don't have a [G]plan at all
But I got this [D]six-string [Em7]religion
And [Cadd9]I do, I do believe a song ca[Am]n heal me
[D] It's enough for [G]me, yeah
[Cadd9] [D] [G]
[Cadd9]I had this picture in my [G]head
[Cadd9]Of where I [D]oughta be and [G]when
[Em7]But it's just like the good advice that [Am]John gave when he said,
"Life, it [C]happens while you're[D] busy making [G]plans"
I'd rather make [G]sandcastles
Instead of these w[D]ide-world d[Em7]ecisions
I [Cadd9]knew, I knew it all was c[D]atching up to me, yeah
And I don't have a [G]plan at all
But I got this [D]six-string [Em7]religion
And [Cadd9]I do, I do believe a song ca[Am]n heal me
[D] It's enough for [G]me, yeah
[Cadd9] [D]
[Cadd9]Where I'm laughing is where I'm[G] home
[Cadd9]But you know how [D]fast it makes the time [G]go
[Em7]And there was nothing like the first time that[Am] I saw open road
And wasn't [C]terrified to [D]ride it on my [G]own
[Cadd9]I got my heart in the right [G]place
[Cadd9]But that place is [D]millions of miles [G]away
[Em7]And I suppose I never will know the [Am]perfect words to say
But I'll keep [C]searching till they [D]find me one fine [G]day
I'd rather make [G]sandcastles
Instead of these w[D]ide-world d[Em7]ecisions
I [Cadd9]knew, I knew it all was c[D]atching up to me, yeah
And I don't have a [G]plan at all
But I got this [D]six-string [Em7]religion
And [Cadd9]I do, I do believe a song ca[Am]n heal me
[D] It's enough for [G]me, yeah[Cadd9]
[D] It's enough for[G] me, yeah [Cadd9] Oooh
[D] It's enough for [G]me, yeah
