After the verse ends the 2nd time the chords are not D#,E,D#. The transition to the bridge is D for 8 beats, G# for 8 beats, C for 8 beats, G# for 8 beats, then G-F-C. These chords contain the melody notes. It should be noted that melody notes do not always coincide with chords. They are contained in the scales of those chords.
