While this might work as the second guitar, it shure as heck ain't this lead.

yeah sorry but the chords are supposed to be D Dsus4 Dsus4 D D G the G is xx7650
i worked out these chords a year ago and i've been playing it like this ever since
thats because it is correct in D lol
this song actually works a lot better if you capo the first fret and then play it as e, a, e, a, b. try the a and b as suspended chords though. sounds a lot better. the actual notes are f, Bbsus, and Csus
Your chords are for the vocal line, not the guitar which is D, Dsus, Dsus2 (commonly capo'd to F)

would be good if it didn't confusingly repeat "C" unnecessarily

D, dsus4,
E A E Bm
Chords are not even close
The chords are D Dsus and Asus, just try them , they are correct.
Capo on 3 then the chords are
D Dsus4 G D Asus slide to A
Good job. Works well for me. The extra C is there to show where to emphasise the chord just before changing to the G.
D and Dsus versions are too thin. Try playing your G with the B string covered at fret 3 and the C with the top E and B covered at fret 3(like a C2).
for Piano:
F Bb9
Bb9 F C4
D, Dsus, A capo non 3rd Fret is the best
NO THE CHORDS ARE.... ADDAE
