Okay, this is pretty accurate, I took the chords
that Gene listed and put them to the lyrics, figuring
out the exact changes and the strumming pattern. It
sounds almost perfect when I play along to my CD and
it works well enough.

Strumming pattern:
e---------------------- (only strum for the D chord)
B----------x-----------
G----------x-----------
D---x-x----x-----------
A---x-x----x----------- (for the D chord, don't play this string...)
E--don't play----------

(4 of the above strums equals what you should play for
each chord when it changes)
(on the D/A/D change play 2 strums D, then 2 strums A, then 4 strums D)
Start strumming A for the intro, come in with
the lyrics on the second strum of the pattern)
  [A]Her green plastic watering ca[F#m]n
For her fake chinese rubber pla[D]nt
  In the fake pl[A]astic [D]earth
  [A]That she bought from a rubber ma[F#m]n
In a town full of rubber pla[D]ns
  To get [A]rid of [D]itself
      It wears her [Bm]out..
  It wears her [A]out..
  It wears her [Bm]out..
  It wears her [A]out
    [A]She lives with a broken ma[F#m]n
  A cracked polystyrene ma[D]n
  Who just c[A]rumbles and [D]burns
  [A]He used to do surger[F#m]y
  For girls in the eight[D]ies
  But gravity [A]always [D]wins
    And it wears him [Bm]out..
  It wears him [A]out..
  It wears him [Bm]out..
  It wee[A]eeeaaaars
[A]She looks like the real thing[F#m]
She tastes like the real th[D]ing
  My fake pl[A]astic [D]love
  [A]But I can't help the feeli[F#m]ng
I could blow through the ceil[D]ing
  If I just t[A]urn and r[D]un
  And it wears me [Bm]out
  It wears me [A]out
  It wears me [Bm]out
  It wears me [A]out
And if I could [Bm]be who you wanted
If I could [A]be who you wanted
  All the[Bm] time..
  All the[A] time..
A (with more energy)
F#m (with more energy)
D (with more energy, no change this time)
