Blue Moon

Traditional

 GEmCD
Blue Moon,        you left me standing here
 GEmCD
alone     Without a      song in my
 GEmCD
heart,    without a      love of my
 GEmCD
        own
 GEmCD
Blue Moon,       you knew what I was
 GEmCD
there for  You heard me say a
 GEmCDGEmG
prayer for,   someone I really care for

 AmDGEm
And suddenly there appeared before me
 AmDGEm
The only one my arms could ever hold
 AmDGEm
I heard somebody whisper, "Please adore me"
 A7D7
And all at once my moon had turned to gold

Blue Moon, now I'm no longer alone
Without a song in my heart
Without a love of my own

Been trying to find the chords for this song for ages and can't seem to come up with the right combinations.

Your chords for the verses are OK except I substitute Em7 for your EM, Am7 for your C and Am, and D7 for your D.

I get hung up on the chorus line " I heard somebody...". There is a change of key in the melody that I haven't quite worked out but I think it modulates 2 steps to F or F7 chord and that's where I get hung up. Thanks for your work though.

I prefer the sound of Em rather than Em7 but really either one works fine.

At the end of the second verse after "..care for" you could optionally use C Bm7 E7 instead of Em C D.
For the troublesome two lines starting with "I heard somebody whisper..." I'd suggest Cm7 F Bbmaj7 and then D7 A7 Am7 D7.
