The Gulf Of Mexico Clint Black
T[C]he Texas coastline hold her
close just like a l[G]ady
And in their time they've
weathered a storm or t[C]wo.
The river feed her waters like I
f[G]eed your memory.
The deeper I go the more I'm
T[F]he sandy beaches drift in time
and the cha[C]nging tide I k[G]now
w[C]on't bring me back to yesterday
and the Gu[G]lf of Mexico.
T[C]he sails out on the water will
c[G]ome take you away.
When your ship comes in I know
its time to [C]go
and the waves along the seawall
tell [G]me nothings here to stay
and no man is an island but I'm
still all al[C]one.
I[F]'m weighing anchors from the past
as the so[C]uth winds start to b[G]low
sai[C]ling out of yesterday
and the G[G]ulf of Mexico.
I'll be sa[F]iling out of yest[C]erday
and the G[G]ulf of Mexico. [F] [C] [G] [C]
