From Set This Circus Down
submitted by: Eddie Brown, Raleigh NC
I saw that someone had lyrics only so I decided to work out the chords
This is a beautifully written song that I think everyone can relate to
at some point in their life.
[E]I'm gonna' drive on out, to the river tonight[A]
Find a quite spot, [B7] turn on my parking lights[E]
[A]I'm gonna' drink some beers, and try to catch a buzz
Turn [B7]my radio up, and forget about us[E]
I'm gonna [E]lay me down, on the hood of this car[A]
Make anothe[B7]r wish, upon a falling star[E]
I'm gonna think again, about the way it was[A]
I'm gonna close [B7]my eyes, and forget about us[E]
I kn[A]ow it won't be easy, bu[B7]t I've got a[E] plan
To j[A]ust let my memory, Let go of[B7] your[E] hand
[C#m] [A]
[B7]I'm gonn[E]a' miss your touch, But I know I must, Forget about us
And wh[E]en the morning sun, burns across my face[A]
I'll put my [B7]shirt back on, get up and walk away[E]
I'm gonna' c[E]limb my frame, onto a greyhound bus[A]
Take a little b[B7]lue pill, and forget about us[E]
I [A]know it won't be easy, [B7] but I've got[E] a plan
To just[A] let my memory, Le[B7]t go of your[E] hand
[C#m] [A] [B7]
[E]I'm gonna' miss your touch, But I know I must, Forget about us
(spoken)
[E]By the time I get to Phoenix, I won't know your name[A]
Those s[E]oft green eyes, your warm skin[A]
And the wa[E]y you say good morning, I'll be alright[A]
enjoy! and keep pickin'!!!!!
