Guitar Tabs, Chords and Lyrics

I Hope That I Dont Fall In Love With You  Tom Waits

This was recently requested, so here it goes. It's not 100% accurate, but this should get you going. The lyrics were already downloaded by Johan Kristian Sveen
Tabbed by Koen van der Drift
                                      [C]        [F]         [F/G]                                  [C]        [F]

      [F/G]                                I [C]hope..fa[F]ll..with [F/G]you.. (see lyrics)

This fingerpicking pattern is continued through the whole song with some small
variations, like one or two extra notes, or 'connecting bass notes'.
In the chorus, the chords change, but the pattern stays roughly the same, except for the 'turnaround'.
chords during chorus:
(or F/G ?)
  [F]music...[C]you......[G]heart...[C]see,   I [F][C]w... (see[F] lyrics)[F/G]

                                    I [C]hope..fa[F][C]you

[G]          Now the[C] room is crowded...
 |----0---0---0---| <-- these last two measures (the 'turnaround') are difficult
 |--0---0---0---0-| to hear, and the TAB is probably not exact.

     I h[C]ope that I don't [F]fall in love with [F/G]you
Cause [C]falling in l[F]ove just makes me bl[F/G]ue
Well the m[F]usic plays and [C]you display your [G]heart for me to [C]see
I [F]had a beer and [C]now I hear you [F]calling out to [F/G]me
And I [C]hope that I don't [F]fall in l[G]ove with [C]you.[G]
Now the room is crowded, people everywhere
And I wonder should I offer you a chair
Well if you sit down with this old clown,
he'll take that frown and break it
Before the evening's gone away, I think that we could make it
And I hope that I don't fall in love with you
Now the night does funny things inside a man
These old tomcat feelings you don't understand
I turn around and look at you, you light a cigarette
Wish I had the guts to bum one, but we've never met
And I hope that I don't fall in love with you
And I can see that you are lonesome just like me
And I'm feeling like you'd like some company
Well I turn around to look at you, and you look back at me
The guy you're with is up and split, the chair next to you's free
And I hope that you don't fall in love with me
Now it's closing time, the music's fading out
Last call for drinks I'll have another stout
I turn around and look at you, you're nowhere to be found
I search the place for your lost face, I guess I'll have another round
and I think that I just fell in love with you

This is the Tom Waits's song called 'I hope that I don't fall in
love with you', which I tabbed from the recording 'The Early Years'.
I think it is a faithfull transcription, at least for the beginning
of the song ( I didn't tabbed all the variations that occur after),
and for possible misprints.
I didn't write all the lyrics, because they have already been sent to
this group. ( I tabbed some others Tom Waits songs. Does it interest
anyone . I prefer answers by e-mail).
