Another theme from ken burns civil war   Various

What you posted is so traditional, it has many names and many variations
in the melody. I've known it as "Johnny has gone for a Soldier" , and
as such, it may be period. I know a Celtoid group that does it as
"Shul a Roo" (I'm probably mangling the spelling terribly).

Recently, Ashoken Farewell by Jay Ungar, one of the recurring themes from Ken
Burns' Civil War shown on PBS, was posted. Can anyone (everyone?) name this
other theme (played on piano, I believe) which I arranged from memory and
tabbed below. I had assumed all the music in that film was from the Civil War
period, but the discussion of Ashoken Farewell showed I was mistaken. Is that
also the case for this piece, or is this a traditional tune of which everyone
except me knows the name? Anyway, once someone identifies it, substitute in
the correct title and author, and enjoy.
