Time of your life Green Day
|-------3--------------3--------------3------------3------| then it repeats, so it almost |----------3-------------3--------------3------------3----| sounds like it goes C9, Dsus4, |-------------0------------0--------------0-----2------2--| Gmodal. So, after the end of the |---0--------------0--------------2-----------0-----------| Dsus4 bit, go straight to the G |------------------------------3--------------------------| bass note. |-3--------------3----------------------------------------|
|------3------------3-------------3------------3----------| The above line gets played |--------3------------3-------------3------------3--------| twice, then this twice, and that's |----------0-----2------2-------------0------------0------| the verse. Then the line after |---2----------0---------------2------------0-------------| that is the chorus. Not that |----------------------------3----------------------------| complex, but this IS Green Day, |-0---------------------------------------3---------------| after all.
|------3------------3------------3-----------3------------| |--------3------------3------------3-----------3----------| |----------0------------0------------0-----------0--------| |---2------------0------------2-----------0---------------| |---------------------------------------------------------| |-0------------3------------0-----------3-----------------|
|------3---------3------| Okay, now, it's important that you go straight back into the |--------3---------3----| opening G of the verse, because the Dsus4 sort of leaves you |----------0---------2--| hanging there. Then play the first half of the verse once |---2----------0--------| through, then start it all over again. |-----------------------| |-0---------------------|
End with Tab 1 and then |---------| |---------| |--2------| |----0----| |------0--| and end on a G |---------|

Chord changes in wrong places

Rather than say the chords are wrong, I might suggest that I hear it a bit differently and offer this:
[G]Another [004432]turning point a [C]fork stuck in the [D]road.
[G]Time grabs you [004432]by the wrist [C]directs you where to [D]go
[Em]So make the [D]best of these days and [C]don't ask [G]why
[Em]It's not a [D]question but a [C]lesson learned in [G]time
If you want to spruce it up a little you can add an Asus after the D's and a G4 after the G's
This pattern works for my ears and it's easier to play too! ;)
Try it and let me know. Tunedeaf (algernon@pathcom.com)

Chords are wrong, it's G2-C2-D-G (or G-C-D-G) then Em-D-C-G. Chords are shown in the wrong place, hold the G til "fork",C, hold C til "road",D etc.
corrected lyrics:
So make the best of this test, and don't ask why
Hang it on a shelf in good health and good time
Tattoos of memories and dead skin on trial
