Legionnaires lament  Decemberists

THIS IS NOT OFFICIAL SHEET OF MUSIC NOTES

"The Legionnaire's Lament" by The Decemberists
www.decemberists.com

This is for one guitar only, I don't know the little electric guitar riffs.

This is my first guitar tab for Ultimate-guitar.com
I'm 95% sure that this is correct
I saw it live in concert. Enjoy.

Standard Tuning: EADGBe

Dm: x57765
A: 577655
G: 355433

VERSE:

(strum with palm muting; listen to the song to know what I mean)

I'm a [Dm]legionnaire,
Camel in [A]disrepair
Hoping for a [G]frigidaire
to come [A]passing by.
I am on [Dm]reprieve,
lacking my [A]joie de vive,
missing my [G]gay Paris,
in this [A]desert dry .

CHORUS:

(still palm muting A, but normal strumming when you get to Dm)

If only summer [Dm]rain would fall
On the [A]houses and the boulevards
G A (palm mute after first couple strums)
and the sidewalk bagatelles it's like a dream
Dm (strum normal again)
with the roar of cars
and the [A]lulling of the cafe bars,
the [G]sweetly sleeping sweeping of the [A]Seine.
Lord I don't know if I'll ever be back again[Dm].

By now you should pretty much have it down; it is very simple. If you hear it
sounds after playing the A chord for a while, it's probably because you need to
add palm muting to transitions, coupled with the fact that the song is not really centered around
acoustic guitar.
It's more of an eclectic composition, featuring
all sorts of instruments. Get an and it'll sound authentic!
