In The Ghetto Elvis Presley
As the [C]snow fli[C/F]es
On a col[Em]d and grey chicago mornin'
A [F]poor little baby [G]child is born
In the g[C]hetto [C/F]
And his [C]mama cries [C/F]
'cause if t[Em]here's one thing that she don't need
It's a[F]nother hungry [G]mouth to feed
In the g[C]hetto
People don't you u[G]nderstand
The child needs a [F]helping [C]hand
Or [F]he'll grow to be an [G]angry young man some d[C]ay
Take a look at y[G]ou and me,
Are we too [F]blind to [C]see,
Do we [F]simply t[Em]urn our heads and [F]look the other [G]way
Well the world turns
And a hungry little boy with a runny nose
Plays in the street as the cold wind blows
In the ghetto
And his hunger burns
So he starts to roam the streets at night
And he learns how to steal
And he learns how to fight
In the ghetto
[G]Then one night in desperation
[F]A young man breaks a[C]way
He [F]buys a gun, s[Em]teals a car,
[F]Tries to run, but he don[G]'t get far
And his mama cries
As a crowd gathers 'round an angry young man
Face down on the street with a gun in his hand
In the ghetto
And as her young man dies,
On a cold and grey chicago mornin',
Another little baby child is born
In the ghetto
And his mama cries
On a cold and grey chicago mornin',
Another little baby child is born
In the ghetto
On a cold and grey chicago mornin',
Another little baby child is born
In the ghetto
On a cold and grey chicago mornin',
Another little baby child is born
In the ghetto

This song is originally in B-flat. Transpose down five semitones (to the key of G) and play with a capo on the third fret.
After you've transposed the song, change the C for an Am7 in the last line of the bridge as the bass line walks down from C to A... like this:
Do we [C] simply [Bm ] turn our heads and [Am7] look the other [D] way.
