LET HER CRY  Hootie and The Blowfish

[G] She sits alone [D]by a lamppost
C (or Csus9) G
Trying to find a thought that's escaped her mind
She says Dad's the one I love the most
But Stipe's not far behind
She never let's me in
Only tells me where she's been
When she's had too much to drink
I say that I don't care
I just run my hands through her dark hair
Then I pray to God you gotta help me fly away
And just...
    Let her [C]cry
If the [G]tears fall down like rain
    Let her [C]sing
    If it [Em]eases [G]all her [D]pain
    Let her [C]go
Let her [G]walk right out on me
And if the [D]sun comes up tomorrow
Let her [C]be, let her [G]be
This morning I woke up alone
Found a note standing by the phone
Saying, "Baby, maybe I'll be back someday"
I wanted to look for you
You walked in I didn't know just what I should do
So I sat back down and had a beer and felt sorry for myself
Saying...
(chorus)
(solo - 8 bars over verse)
(chorus)
Last night I tried to leave
Cried so much I could not believe
She was the same girl I fell in love with long ago
She went in the back to get high
And I sat down on my couch and cried
Yelling "Oh mama, please help me
Won't you hold my hand"
And...
(chorus) x 2

Actually, my above comment has it's own errors, the proper chorde progression is as follows:

Verse:
G-D-Cadd9-G (repeated various times depending on verse, also used for transition from chorus to verse, and while solo's are played)

Chorus:
C-G
Em-G?-D (this is the "if it eases all her pain" riff, the G? is a chorde that I have yet to find the name of [despite searching every page of my chorde encyclopedia], but is played 320010[EADGbe]
C-G-D-C-G

The link I provided above shows him playing these notes, and there are other youtube vids that show it much better like the following:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=27xzJl4tIuU&feature=related
The only problem with this link is that you have a good 2.5 minutes of chatting before Darius starts to sing.

/agree with above comment, transpose this piece -5 semitones to get the proper chorde progression:
Verse: G-D-C-G (repeated various times depending on verse)
Chorus: C-G-C-Em-D-C-G-D-C-G
Watch Rucker play to verify:

Also keep in mind that lyrics are not set in stone, the above link I have provided proves that as well.
GL to all

Transpose your chords up to -5 semitones , start in G.

Instead of using C, use C(add9), it sounds alot better.

This version does not show where the chords should be played although the chords are pretty accurate

I find it easier to play when the chords are layed out over the entire song, and not simply once at the top of the first verse. This progression isn't too hard, but some other progressions get lengthy and are hard to remember.
