Try this with just D, A7 and G Tune down the low E to D for a bit of a drone and fret the G on strings 1 2 and 5 You can pretty easily strum out the melody around the D too. Pretty cool!

I think that this one should have a capo on the 4th fret. it sounds a lot more similar to the recording then.
