The rules for slash chords are, Chord/note. When it's written this way, the extra note will usually be on lower strings. If the extra note is wanted on the highr strings then it's written "Chord add note"
D/F# 200232 is a very useful chord as it's a nice walk from G down to E, but F#/D just sounds horrible.

F#/A should be an F#m (You'll be playing an A on your 3rd string anyway)

The D/G should be G add D. 32003x
Then A add D x02230. The D on the second string keeps ringing throught the line.
