Sometimes When We Touch  Rod Stewart

     You [D]ask me if I [D/G]love you, and I [D/A]choke on my r[D]eply.
I'd r[F#M]ather hurt you h[BM]onestly, than m[E]islead you with a l[A]ie
And w[EM]ho am I to ju[A]dge you on w[D]hat you say or d[BM]o
I'[G]m only just b[F#/D]eginning to s[E]ee the re[F#]al yo[A]u.
Chorus
     An[D]d sometimes when we [D/G]touch. The [A]honesty's too [F#M]much
An[BM]d I have [E]to close my eyes, and h[A]ide.
I wan[D]na hold you till I d[D/G]ie, till we bo[A]th break down, an[F#/A]d cry.
I want[EM] to hold you till the fe[A]ar in me su[D]bsides.

Verse2
Ro[D]mance in all its s[D/G]trategy has me ba[D/A]ttling with my p[D]ride
  [F#M]But though the i[BM]nsecurity some t[E]enderness su[A]rvies
Im [EM]just another w[A]riter still tr[D]apped with in my [BM]truths
  A hes[G]itant prize [F#/D]fighter still trapp[E]ed [F#]with in my [A]youth.

Chorus
    And[D] sometimes when w[D/G]e touch the ho[A]nestys too m[F#M]uch
    an[BM]d I have[E] to close my eyes, and h[A]ide
    I wa[D]nna hold you till I [D/G]die till we b[A]oth breakdown, [F#A]and cry
I wan[EM]na hold you till the f[A]ear in me su[D]bsides

Bridge
At t[A]imes Id like to hold[A] you and driv[A]e you to your [D]knees
at [BM]times Id like to br[F#M]eak through, and ho[G]ld you end[A]lessly
    at t[D]imes I understa[D/G]nd you, and I[D/A] know how hard you [D]try
Ive [F#M]watched while lo[BM]ve commands you and Ive [E]watched love pass you [A]by
    At ti[EM]mes I think were d[A]rifters, still s[D]earching for a f[BM]riend
    a br[G]other or a si[F#D]ster, but then the[E] passion [F#]flares [A]again.

Repeat chorus.

The rules for slash chords are, Chord/note. When it's written this way, the extra note will usually be on lower strings. If the extra note is wanted on the highr strings then it's written "Chord add note"

D/F# 200232 is a very useful chord as it's a nice walk from G down to E, but F#/D just sounds horrible.

christopaul (report)

F#/A should be an F#m (You'll be playing an A on your 3rd string anyway)

The D/G should be G add D. 32003x
Then A add D x02230. The D on the second string keeps ringing throught the line.
