The Way I Am  Merle Haggard

[F] Wish I was down on some blue [Bb] bayou
With a bamboo [F] cane stuck in the [C7] sand
But the road I'm [F] on - don't seem to [Bb] go there
So I Just [F] dream - keep on [C7] bein' the way [F] I am.
Wish I enjoyed what makes my living
Did what I do with a willin' hand
Some would run - but that ain't like me
I just dream and keep on bein' the way I am.

Chorus:
The way I [Bb] am, don't fit my [F] shackles
The way I am - re-ali-[C7] ty
I can almost [F] see - that bobber [Bb] dancin'
But I just [F] dream - keep on [C7] bein' the way I [F] am.

Repeat Chorus:

TAG: I just dream - keep on bein' the way I am.
      Yod-el lay-te-ee he-ee, yod-el lay-te-ee.

this should be played in f# and add a E chord before each B in order to get a better flavor.... also in this key the dflat7 can be played as a reg dflat... sounds better to me that way, for whatever thats worth
