simple man Lynyrd Skynyrd
#------------------------------------------------------------------------------# # Date: Mon, 27 Oct 1997 16:25:03 -0600 (CST) This is in response to the request for Simple Man. The picking pattern is very simple, just a few bass note walks. Here goes. First, walk up the A string in this order open-2-3 and strum C. Next walk down the same string 3-2, then pick 3 on the low E string, third fret and strum a G chord. Walk up the low E string 2-3, then strum an Am. The tab is below. Listen to a recording to get the feel for it, once you hear it, you can figure it out easily. C G Am E -----------3--2-3-- A -0-2-3-3-2--2------ D ------2-----0-----2- G ------0-----0-----2- B ------1-----0-----1- e ------0-----3-----0- I usually play the verses with this pattern, but strum the chorus. #------------------------------------------------------------------------------# # I sent these lyrics to the person's e-mail who requested them, but thought you might be interested in them for the Cowpie. I use a picking technique with C G Am. but don't know how to explain it. (I am more of a drummer than a guitar player) I am a new subscriber to Cowpie and wanted you to know how much I appreciate your time, the website and newsletter. Keep 'em coming! Simple Man Lynyrd Skynyrd My momma told me, when I was young, Come sit beside me, my only son. And listen closely, to what I say, And if you do this, it will help you, some sunny day. Oh take your time, don't live too fast. Troubles will come, and they will pass. Well find a woman, and you'll find love, And don't forget son, there is someone up above. Chorus: And be a simple kind of man. Oh be something you'll love and understand. Baby be a simple kind of man. Oh won't you do this for me son if you can. Get your lust, the rich man's gold. All that you need, is in your soul. And you can do this, if you try. All that I want for you my son, Is to be satisfied. Repeat Chorus: Oh don't you worry, you'll find yourself. Follow your heart, and nothing else. And you can do this, if you try. All that I want for you my son, Is to be satisfied. Repeat chorus: Oh won't you do this for me son, if you can. Repeat Chorus: No blue days come sun or rain as long as you smile away the pain ........ sporkette'97 Joseph L.
