There's no actual proof that it was written by Henry VIII although it is believed to have been written around the time of his reign. This version is over-complicated. Here in the UK it is mostly played in the key of Am (with G, E7 and C)in 3/4 time - 6/8 would make it be played as a fast jig!

i believe this is the oldest song in written english.penned by henry the eighth. probably to some lady who didn't want her head cut off for not being good enuff in bed!
