What will be wil[A]l be

[F#m]on and on and o[B]n and on and on
it[A] goes
hmm hmm [E]hmm

and theres always been
[F#m]laughin and cryin
and birth and dyin
and boys and [B]girls
well hearts are taken
given, breakin'
[F#m]heal and grow
and recreate and raise and nu[B]rture
then hurt from time
to times like the[A]se
and times like th[E]ose
what will be will [A]be
and so it goe[E]s
(now just use that stuff to figure the rest out!)

and theres always been
stop and go
and fast and slow
and action, reaction
stick and stones
and broken bones
those for peace

and those for war
and god bless these ones
not those ones
but these ones

in times like these
and times like those
what will be will be
and so it goes

and it always goes
on and on and on and on and on
on and on and on and on and on
it goes
hmm hmm hmm

ok, those who've spoken to jack in person tell me this isn't the way
he plays it, and thats cool. he plays the same notes, and its just
a matter of different fingering. play these TYPE of progression the whole
way through, even during the chorus parts. also, on some of the verses he'll
slide from the D to the F#m and he'll strum it in the reggae style. this
is just adding color to the song, so figure it out and you'll sound like
jack, aight? thanks for the help everyone.
this is the progressioN

There's traffic in the sky and it doesn't seem to be getting much better
There's kids playing games on the pavement Drawing waves on the pavement Mmm hmm
Shadows of the planes on the pavement Mmm hmm
It's enough to make me cry
But that don't seem like it will make it feel better
Maybe it's a dream and if I scream
It will burst at the seams
Whole place would fall into pieces

And then they'd [A]say  [G#]
[G]Well how could we have kno[A]wn
I'll tell them it's not [D]so hard to
[Bm] Tell
Nah[G] nah nah
You keep addin[A]g stones
Soon the water[D] will
Be lost in the [Bm]well

[Mmmm]     [mmmm]
Verse (same as above)
And puzzle pieces in the ground
No one ever seems to be digging
Instead they're looking up towards the heavens
With their eyes on the heavens
Mmm hmmm
The shadows on the way to the heavens
Mmm hmm
It's enough to make me cry
That don't seem like it will make it feel better
The answers could be found
We could learn from digging down
But no one ever seems to be digging
Instead they'll say
Well how could we have known
I'll tell them it's not so hard to tell
Nah nah nah
You keep adding stones
Soon the water will
Be lost in the well
[Mmmm]And w[mmmm]ords of wisdom all around
But no one ever seems to listen
They're talking about the plans on the paper
Building up from the pavement
Mmm hmm
The shadows from the scrapers on the pavement
Mmm hmm
It's enough to make me sigh
But that don't seem like it will make it feel better
The words are all around
But the words are only sounds
And no one ever seems to listen
Instead they'll say
Well how could we have known
I'll tell them it's really not so hard to tell
Nah nah nah
You keep adding stones
Soon the water will
Be lost in the well
Lost in the well
Mmmm mmmm mmmm (end on D)

Holes to heaven
Written by Jack Johnson

This is a mixture of a whole lot of average tabs. I think that this is better than them
enjoy!!

The verse can be played using the riff or the chords...it sounds much better with two
each playing it differently...but try playing the riff three times and instead of hitting
last E, play Em chord.

Verse/main riff

e--------------------------|
B--------------------------|
G--------------------------|
D--------------------------|
A-----------0--------------|
E--3-3-3-2---3-2-0---------|

Intro G x 4 or play the riff three times and then end on Em as done for the verse
[G]The air was more than hu[D]man
[G]And the heat was more th[D]an hungry
G D Em (or Em7)

And the cars were square and spitting diesel fumes
[G]The boars were running w[D]ild
[G]Because they're big and mean and sacred [D]
[G]And the children playing c[D]ricket with [Em/7]no shoes
[Bm]That morning we woke up man
[Bm]To a seven-hour drive
[C]Well there we were stuck in port blair
[C]Where boats break and child[C7]ren stare

[G]And there were so many fewer [D]questions
[Em]When stars were still ju[Bm]st the holes to heaven, [C]mmm [Am]
[G]Man and there were so many fe[D]wer questions
[Em]When stars were still j[Bm]ust the holes to heaven,[C] mmm... [Am]

it wasnt me, says the boy with the gun
sure i pulled the trigger, but it needed to be done
because lifes been killing me ever since it begun
you cant blame me because im too young

you cant blame me, sure the killer was my son
but i didnt teach him to pull the trigger of the gun
its the killing on his tv screen
you cant blame me, its those images he seen

you cant blame me, says the media man
i wasnt the one who came up with the plan
i just point my camera at what the people want to see
its a two way mirror and you cant blame me

you cant blame me, says the singer of the song
or the maker of the movie which he based his life on
its only entertainment, as anyone can see
its smoke machines and makeup, you cant fool me

it was you, it was me, it was every man
weve all got the blood on our hands
we only receive what we demand
and if we want hell then hells what well have

i would turn on the tv, but its so embarrassing
to see all the other people, dont know what they mean
it was magic at first, but let everyone down
and now this world is gonna hurt, you better turn it around
turn it around

Jack Johnson- Rodeo Clowns

Chords- C#m F#m A G#

[C#m]Sweeping the floors, open up the doors
[F#m]Turn on the lights, getting ready for tonight
[A]Nobody's romancing because it's too early for dancing
[G#]But here comes the music

[C#m]Bright lights flashing to cover up your lack of soul
[F#m]Many people, so many problems, so many reasons
[A]To buy a round drink it down
[G#]Just another night on the town
[C#m]With the big man, moneyman, better than the other man
[F#m]He got the plan with the million-dollar give a damn
[A]When nobody understands he'll become a smaller man
[G#m]The bright lights keep flashing, the women keep on dancing
With the[C#m] clowns, th[G#m]ey pick me up when I'm down
The rode[A]o clowns, th[F#m]ey pick me up when I'm down
Then it repeats this sequence with only the lyrics changing

Enjoy!!!
