Hello,

Please contact customer support if you haven't gotten your e-mail.  What is likely happening is that the e-mail is getting blocked by your, or your internet service provider's, spam filter.

Thank You.

JamPlay.com is giving away a free PRS SE Singlecut guitar!  This contest will take place on our YouTube channel and is free to enter.  You do not need to be a JamPlay subscriber to win.  All you need to do to win is record yourself jamming over the backing track we provided, and post it as a video response on our YouTube channel.

More info on the contest can be found here :

Unfortunately our content is not available offline. You have to be online to view it all. This is something we are considering producing though (DVD sets and downloadable material).

We think our site is very worth it. Give the trial code a shot and see for yourselves!

The video problems headcase has mentioned are a very rare situation. It only happens for users with a very slow computer and/or internet connection. Even with a moderately slow PC/connection, simply upgrading your flash version & using a lower quality (low or medium) resolves the problem. If anybody has any questions about JamPlay, do not hesitate to contact us at support@jamplay.com.

Definitely a good reference - thanks! We basically have the same thing, but via video instead of text.

Any time you have a hammer on, pull off, or slide you are NOT going to pick the note. The action itself is what creates the sound.

Let's look at this, for instance: 9h11p9\8.

You will pick the 9th fret, hammer on to the 11th, pull off to the 9th, then slide to the 8th. Doing 9/11\9\8 will sound similar to hammer-ons & pull-offs but will just be a little less harsh (and have a lot less volume as slides tend to get muted more). Depending on the context of the song, sliding may work fine for you.

If you're not familiar with these techniques (or reading tablature in general), check out JamPlay.com - we have quite a few lessons that should work out nicely for you.

What's the issue? Are you having trouble reading them or what? If you're looking for help, JamPlay can help you. We have a few lessons specifically geared towards helping people understand tablature (as well as dozens of other helpful things).

Or if you have a specific question, just post here & we can try to help you out a bit.

Yeah...every beginner has issues with barre chords. It may seem boring, but just keep up with your daily dexterity exercises. Once you build up the muscles in your hand (that you're not used to using otherwise), barre chords will become quite easy.

An acoustic with high action could cause troubles...so I'm surprised you're having issues with an electric with low action. But as you said, practice practice practice!

There isn't a most important member. Everybody has to click & flow well or the group will flop. Geesh...haven't you watched all these rock band movies out there? wink

I own both an acoustic & an electric. As most people know, an electric is quite a bit easier to play (thinner strings since it has electronic amplification). However...there's a certain natural sound an acoustic produces that's hard to get with an electric. Not to mention...if you learn on an acoustic then go to an electric, it's a piece of cake. If you do it the other way, the transition can be tough. It's also quite nice to just be able to pick up my guitar anywhere in the house & start playing without having to setup by an amplifier.
