The fellow that I get together with occasionally has one of those. He loves it.

Just to be clear, I would NOT look down on anyone for having their music in front of them. For most orchestras, that's the norm. I just prefer not to.

Zurf,

You're getting sleepy. Veeeeeery sleeepy.

I would add a tag using the last 2 lines of the chorus as the song fades out, slowly. Just my 2 cents.

Nela

Maybe a finger picking for those 2 lines with a a slow, soft strum on the G to close the song out.

I took the Jas to a music store near me, explained my problem, and the guy said, "Well, first of all, Mr. Craig, I get $40.00 up front for just looking at your guitar. Everything else is extra."

That doesn't seem right to me.

I have a '46 Epi Archtop. The heal of the neck is starting to show signs of separating from the body. I took it in for a guy to look at and get his opinion. He was more than happy to have a look and give me an estimate on setting it back where it belongs. I'll be looking at around $300 to have it fixed. I may do that this summer when I'm back to working full time.

Joe, I wish you the best possible return to the stage! Will someone be filming? If so, I'd like to see it on the Tube if you don't mind?

Bill

Not that I'm aware of.

There will be plenty of jitters and I fully expect to make mistakes so not having that documented is OK by me.

Personally, I would want to know the song before I got on a stage to perform in front of people. That's what I'm doing right now. In the next few weeks I plan on doing an open mic night and I refuse to have a book or other crutch in front of me. I hope to have at least a dozen songs to choose from. It's been nearly 30 years since I've been on a stage so I'm doing a lot of practicing in the evenings.

I'm thinking either 12 string or The Loar acoustic archtop...

Go with the 12 string.

If the weather gods are with me, I plan to bring my Alvarez 12 string along to Florida next month. You can get hooked. smile

I'm going with the Godin (#4). I love that natural wood look. Look at the neck pick-up. The wood surrounding it, which has an almost circular pattern, looks like it was cut right from the very heart of the tree. Absolutely stunning grain.

I never knew there was such a thing either.

So of course I had to look them up. They come in a variety of thicknesses too. Who da thunk?

A few years later I discovered Jethro Tull, and our musical tastes went separate ways.

I introduced my dad to JT with Thick as a Brick and it brought him into the era of music that I listen to. It was the flute that grabbed him and wouldn't let go.

My first guitar was a Hondo electric I inherited from my brother. He moved out of the house before I did and left it behind. I do however have an old Kay mandolin. But even with new tuners it doesn't like to stay in tune.

Body snatchers? Pod people? Borg in waiting?

Thanks Doug. No, not a quiz.

If mother nature favors me by keeping the snow way to our north, I'm pretty sure I'm going to make the trip south. This event just looks like too much fun to pass by. I haven't play with a group of people for a looooong time and the folks here on chordie seem like a great bunch. smile It will be nice to have some idea who's who ahead of time.

I guess I haven't got around to making a 2014 album yet.  It's only been 10 months.  Get off my back.

Before you delve into the 2014 album, how about a label for pic #25. I believe you are 2nd from the left. Who is everyone else?

I am banning my guitars from e-bay and Amazon.

Now that doesn't seem fair to me. If they make you money they should have a say in how it's spent. smile

With that said, even though my Epi doesn't make money for me, I'm thinking about letting it buy a set of these pins. After 30+ years the saddle is starting to show some serious grooves.

Pneumonia is nothing to mess with. I had a pretty severe case (because I ignored the signs) back in the early 90's. They wanted to admit me to the hospital but I promised to be good, not go to work (for 4 weeks), drink lots of fluids and get plenty of rest. Hope you're feeling better real soon.
