Topic: Matthew's Southern Comfort - Woodstock

Does any one know how to play the intro to this. I know it's done on a steel guitar but should also be possible on a normal guitar.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

David

Hey David.

Here's the Joni Mitchell

There's also the Crosby Stills Nash and Young version here. If the lyrics first line include "..a child of God..." then it's the same song.

Hi KajiMa,

Thanks for your help it's the right song but it's the Matthew's Southern Comfort version I was looking for, that's my favourite one. have a listen if you get the chance, it's very pretty and brings out the spirit of the time.

Sorry David! I goofed and didn't read everything - i.e. that it was the INTRO you wanted roll

No joy with the MSC version intro, but I've found an intro tab to the C, S, N & Y version -

Re: Matthew's Southern Comfort - Woodstock

Hi KajiMa,

Thanks again for your kind help, unbfortunately the MSC intro is completely different to the CSNY version, I'll just have to buckle down and work it out by myself as I used to do in the old days before the internet ! I also posted to get a Labi Siffre song and when there were no replies, I just sat down and worked it out in about an hour, I shouldn't be so lazy.

All the best to you,

David

No worries mate!

Get back to us when you've got it and/or put a file (audio/film) on a site with a link so we can all hear it.

Sorry to have failed! sad

Good luck with it and look forward to hearing more from you! smile

Re: Matthew's Southern Comfort - Woodstock

Hi there, this may well be seven years a little late!  but I have a close approximation on the intro to this.....

                          P
B:  15   13   13 - 10                         11
G:  12   10   10          10   12   14   12

hope this helps....

this has it with chords

and you can actually capo on it and play chords you are comfy with
