Topic: Promote a corrected song to become the "proper song"

I have done some fairly serious corrections to some songs that I have in various places (both in a songbook and on my computer) and I would like to make them the default for other users (I think mine are cleaner). How do I go about doing that?

Re: Promote a corrected song to become the "proper song"

to default songs you would first have to become an editor for a band. Then you can sort the albums and songs out.
You can hide all the " best of" albums as the songs will be on other albums, then you can hide songs making the one you have corrected being the only song for that album.

Other than that you would have to just click on the bottom of the song to correct it, but it would not make it the default song. Most people I would think will click on the first version of a song being at the top of a list so maybe your best bet would be to correct any at the top of a list.

As chordie does not host the songs it cannot automatically default the songs. You could go to the priginal site it came from and submit all your corrections to them and then once the yare on the site that hosts them then you can add them to chordie's index, but I suspect that would take ages.

Sorry I have no simple answer for you

At the start of the Songwriting section there is a "sticky" that explains how to post your original songs in the forum:  http://www.chordie.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=1957

It should render something like the one Jets60 posted there recently, and if you include your name and the date on the document, it will also serve as proof of copyright in most countries.

If you just 'previewed' the post and then left it, it would not have been saved. It has to be 'submitted' to be saved to the Forum. Otherwise I am at a loss. If you submitted the post it should be there for eternity unless it is deleted by yourself or a Moderator.
