If your brain is part of the process, you're missing it. You should play like a drowning man, struggling to reach shore. If you can trap that feeling, then you have something.
Peace of mind. That's my piece of mind...

Re: PHOTOS OF MEMBERS

Marc you will need a flickr or similar account like photo bucket  then copy the URL of the photo and use the image tags and paste in between the brackets I will give an example smile

Oh yeah, we're pretty much a PBR Powered band.  As much of the stuff as we drink, they aught to sponsor a tour or something.  smile

Re: PHOTOS OF MEMBERS

Ray - Heres a message I recently sent a fellow moderator on the subject:

First - You cannot post images directly from your computer, you have to open an account at a file or picture hosting site. There are several available, free and easy. Most sites allow you to make your pictures private or public for viewing by others. I use Flickr (which is owned by yahoo), it's real simple to use. Linkage: http://www.flickr.com/

Then, in order to post a photo, you have to learn a bit of HTML code (that's right, now your a programmer). It's quite basic really - uses things called "tags" that tells the forum software how to format a message or item. For pictures, the tag is formatted as such:

[img]... copy / paste the ip address of your photo here i.e. http://www.flicker.my photo[/img]

If the link is correct, your picture will magically appear! There are other HTML "tags" that work similarly. [ b] ....[/b] will provide bold text between the tags. More info can be found here:

http://www.chordie.com/forum/help.php#bbcode

If this is all too much of a hassle - email me the photo and I'll be happy to host / post it for ya!

Jeff

Re: PHOTOS OF MEMBERS

Heya Jeff,  I was kinda strugglin with it the first time I tried and I'm pretty computer literate. With the help of Russ and once I downloaded photobucket it was easy. On photobucket it even does the copy and paste thing for you.
I think though what some don't understand is you have to have a image hosting site.

I HEAR YOU Ray Melton!!!!!! YOU ARE NOT ALONE!!!

They( computers) don't do what I what them to do. Well eventually they do after asking 11 people, altering algorithms, deferring and altering pre and post data input sources, ordering a hot-mail plate of pancakes, deleting a big bag of cookies, fowarding a photograph to another person flicking a pic of a pic, placing appropriate rarely used punctuational tools, and then maybe, if the aforementioned 28 steps were performed properly, a desired result will be attained. Seems like a lot of climbin' to get a short way up a desired pole of achievment. I despise the modern age of technology.......................

A big stinky bag of horse manure if you ask me. ( haha) Whatever happened to the ole, " come on over to the house and watch the slide show from our trip to the ........" with a huge cooler full of beers and hamburgers blazin' on the grill.

Ahhhhh  the good ole days, I miss simplicity......
But on the positive side I've enjoyed conversatin' with you folks', well most of you at least!...(teehehaha)

Peace and Guitars,
SouthPaw41L

Re: PHOTOS OF MEMBERS

^ I don't think the chordie forum software will recognize the file name name without a proper file extension. I saved your file as a .jpg and added it to my flickr site. then copied that address. You had the tags right, just not a file extension.
