Topic: Reading Chords

What does the little diamond symbol mean next to a string when reading a chord?  I am a complete neophyte here and my friend at work is an expert and for the life of him he couldnt recall while explaining the reading of chords.  We work the graveyard shift so he is excused for going brain dead when I asked the question.

Thanks,

Joe

Re: Reading Chords

I cant remember seeing a wee diamond on a chord diagram. I shall look again.

But I do know ( and maybe you do too) that if you see a     0     it means to play the string open. Maybe the diamond means the same? or to let a tone ring out?

apart from that i have no idea either.

Looking forward to seeing what it means also if not to play an open string

Ken

ye get some that are cut out for the job and others just get by from pretending
