Yesterday i added 3 new songs to the index, i understand it may take a while for them to show up. I would like to at a later date edit those songs by adding the chords and tabs. will i be able to do that or should it have been done before hand.

It should be done before hand. If there are no chords or tabs I doubt that our admin will add the songs to Chordie as this is "Chordie" not a lyrics site. The editing feature has been removed from the site for now as that would include saving a portion of the songs on Chordie's servers and therefore violating copyright laws for Chordie. The songs generally should be in chopro format.
