Topic: Amp. using a electric bass guitar with a non-bass amp.

Hello,

I am realitivley new guitarist and was wondering about wheather when i get an elctric bass, if will need to buy a special amp to acompinie it eg. a bass amp.  My current amp is a small non-bass 15w amp due to limited space and dont want to have to have two amps.  However, if u think i will need to buy a different amp so the bass and my other guitar can both be able to use the amp, please suggest one.  And if u think it would work, weather the sound qulity would be worse or not.

thanks, sean

Re: Amp. using a electric bass guitar with a non-bass amp.

Because a bass is geared to more lows you'll need a amp made for basses to get the true sound. Same goes with the electric which tends to bring out more high notes (yes you can get midrange and lower notes but not as deep as a standard bass). You'll have to test out amps and see which one fits your sound and wallet.

Good luck,
