Topic: Underground train

At xmas we stayed with my son in London, during  this  time there were several suicides on the underground ,I was surprised by peoples attitude to these deaths .Most seemed unmoved and unconcerned but were only concerned by the delays to their journeys .I decided to  write  this  poem which I may make into a song at some  future  date .

Under ground train
You have made me late again
Appointments I must keep
My time it isn't cheap
I cant accept your reasons
Why you lag behind
Why is there a problem
Somewhere down the line .

He left his home this morning
He couldn't stand his life
He found out that his best friend
Had run out with his wife
He took a tube to Euston
He saw the  main line  leave
There was nothing for him but to sit and grieve

Back down in the subway
The hustle of the crowd
The noise of the commuters
His senses overpowered
The rushing wind approaches
But now he feels so fine
The loudspeaker announces
There's something on the line

Under ground train
You have made me late again
The comments from my clients
Cut me like a knife
Much much more than money
The cost was someone's life.

Re: Underground train

I like it,looks like a song in there. I think alot of the reason people do not react alot too bad things is we heare about them alot and become de-sensified.

my papy said son your going too drive me too drinking if you dont stop driving that   Hot  Rod  Lincoln!! Cmdr cody and his lost planet airman

Re: Underground train

I  think you  are right ,I think  also  this lack of personal involvement carries  over  into a lot of other  things.
