Topic: love in a storm

True love is rare these days, it's so hard to find. When you find your soul mate always keep this in mind.

May the storm be your passion, and the love instilled in your heart.

May the rain and wind bring you more love and may that love never part.

May you find someone to love, a love so dedicated and true. Someone to bond with to make you happy when blue someone to caress you and dry you tears.

May you find someone who you can lean on, someone to take away all your fears.

May it never go away this storm in your heart, and may you always be together, thinking of each other when you're apart. ~fin~

So, thoughts, comments, ideas guys? I don't really have any direction with the melody yet.

Re: love in a storm

Not bad RJ,  You might have to tweak the words a bit when you put it to music.  I'd be interested in hearing what you come up with.

Now the only reason I mention the possibility of change is that music has a timing that is fairly structured, and reading just the words, it's hard to get the feel of the meter.  Language is not as rigidly bound to a set beat, and sometimes you have to trim or lengthen a phrase to get the two to work together.

Good stuff though!

Re: love in a storm

Hey bud! I was playing around with some chords and found that the song would be slow and dragging if I kept the exact wording, so tweaking to fit the melody now. I'll post a vid on youtube and link it when I'm satisfied with everything.

Welcome to Chordie rj! I agree with Doug,a little tweak here and there and you have a nice song there. Look forward to the finished version!

Re: love in a storm

Don't know how deeply you've delved into the forums here on Chordie, but hiding down in the "stickys" in the Recording section is a section referring to the Chordie Members Musical Network.... options for working with more experienced members in getting your original tunes polished.  Kind of a mentoring thing I think, but some folks here have put together some nice music via the network, and it might be worth mentioning.

Haven't seen much action from that corner recently, but I do know that it is still active and is another resource available here on Chordie for aspiring songwriters.

Re: love in a storm

Nice lyrics seems like some Bob Dylan chords would do well for the song.

I have finally found happiness in my life.  Guitars, singing, beer and camping.  And they all intertwine wonderfully.
