Topic: Mother ( A punk ballad)

I am working on hopefully a punkabilly or  psychobilly type of arrangement in B with a county beat @ 104 bpm
Also Thanks to Tony Hall for a quick one-liner that took me into this totally 180 direction from where I started.

She is the hero of her children’s eyes
When they fall, they don’t see her cry
She is the strong one
Kissing them and sending them back to play

She’s a mother,  a lover,  a warrior and a saint
All while drinking’, hitting' the pipe and huffing paint
Life can be cruel, life can be rough
She hides it well, but with no restraint

There is no shelter
The Rolling Stones do little to help her
She’s crying in her head
Thank god for the kids or she might be dead

She’s a mother, a lover, a warrior and a saint
All while drinking’, hitting' the pipe and huffing paint
Life can be cruel, life can be rough
she hides it well, but with no restraint

Her man can’t see it
He’s living on the edge of a knife
As long as she lays him
He hugs the kids and thinks its alright.

She’s a mother,  a lover,  a warrior and a saint
All while drinking’, hitting' the pipe and huffing paint
Life can be cruel, life can be rough
she hides it well, but with no restraint

She is the hero of her children’s eyes
When they fall , they don’t see her cry
She is the strong one
Kissing them and sending them back to play

Great  you've got to get this recorded it will be excellent

Re: Mother ( A punk ballad)

It should work well as a song when you get your music sorted. But in B???? I guess you don't want Zurf to play it lol

Re: Mother ( A punk ballad)

you do realise that the key of B can cause death or serious injury?

sorry, just dehydrated due to the humidity here at the moment cool

ps, i'm looking forward to hearing it too

Ask not what Chordie can do for you, but what you can do for Chordie.

Re: Mother ( A punk ballad)

Oh-no, the dreaded B.  I've been working on trying to get a clean B chord and I might be starting to mutate - sometimes I nail it!

Live in the "now" - a contentment of the moment - the past is gone - the future doesn't exist - all we ever really have is now and it's always "now".

Re: Mother ( A punk ballad)

Zurf will not like it he is against the dreaded B chord.

It might all stay in B I might throw one other bar chord in. then again I might go somewhere else with it if im not getting what is in my head for it.  I might have to change the drum loop.

Re: Mother ( A punk ballad)

We play  all along  the  watch tower  from B  and  Rock me  baby , both  work  well .we  got  the  idea  from U2 s  version of  watchtower. We  play  bar chords  for  these .
B A G  for  watch tower  and B E F# for  Rock me  baby

They can't work good in B.  B is evil.

Re: Mother ( A punk ballad)

Ya know Beamer, if you can play that barre on 14..... you should be able to do it on 2.  Just thought I'd mention it for grins, unless you really need that bass tone up there.  Some notes just resonate more on heavier strings higher up the neck and moving around on the fretboard can add flavor in a good way where you don't expect.

Get it figured out I'd like to hear the result as well.

Re: Mother ( A punk ballad)

beamer this song somehow reminds me of the tempo of The Joker  by the Steve Miller band.  You might want too check out the chords he used.
