Topic: What would the guitar you will be requiring for your child to learn?

• Full scale guitars are approx. 39 inches
• 3/4 scale guitars are approx. 36 inches
• 1/2 scale guitars are approx. 33 inches
• 1/4 scale guitars are approx. 30 inches or less

Most can get around a "short scale" (25 1/2") guitar, but a smaller body might be more comfortable.  Really though it all depends on the age of your student.

I started playing full size when I was 6. I would probably just do that.
